Adam Phillips, Licensed Professional Counselor, Team Lead

Adam Phillips is a Licensed Professional Counselor at MPA's Poteau location. He holds a Bachelor's in Christian Education and Youth Ministry from Hillsdale FWB College and a Master's in Human Resources Management from East Central University. He is also trained in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and works with clients ages 5 and up, with a particular focus on adolescents, teenagers, and adult males.

Before becoming an LPC, Adam spent several years in Child Protective Services as a Child Welfare Specialist — work that gave him firsthand knowledge of trauma, resilience, and what it means to advocate for someone who needs it.

Adam started in this field with a clear purpose: most men aren't taught how to talk about what's going on inside. He wanted to change that — to give guys a space where they don't have to carry it alone, and where getting stronger on the inside is treated as just as important as anything else.

On his days off, Adam can be found thrifting with his wife, hanging out with their four boys, or checking in on his cattle. A full life, lived fully.
