Lauren Richmond, MS, LMLP

Lauren Richmond brings a rich, multidisciplinary foundation to her work at MPA's McPherson location. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from Eastern New Mexico University, and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University.

Lauren works with adults (ages 18+) and specializes in some of the most complex layers of human experience: recovery from narcissistic and emotionally abusive relationships, relational and developmental trauma, attachment dynamics, interpersonal boundaries, anxiety and depression, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and mind-body integration. She also conducts psychological assessments and diagnostic clarification — work that supports a more thoughtful, individualized approach to care.

Her therapeutic style is grounded and insight-oriented, drawing on evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and somatic-informed practices. Her graduate research on personality and relational dynamics, which led to a peer-reviewed publication, continues to inform how she understands people. Lauren has also provided supervision for graduate-level therapy interns and, earlier in her career, volunteered in Taiwan as a boxing coach for children in foster care — an experience that shaped her belief in empowerment, movement, and connection as meaningful parts of healing.

When she's not in session, Lauren is outside — exploring plants for their traditional, medicinal, and edible uses, or finding some other way to get her hands into something creative or playful. She's the kind of person who finds wonder in the natural world and brings that curiosity right back into the therapy room.
